Every bodybuilder (after years of training usually, once they feel they are ready) competes at low level national, amateur events The more successful you do at these events, the higher you will be able to compete in the sport, and maybe one day, become a professional (whereby you are able to compete for prize money, potentially get sponsors etc) For instance, a bodybuilder will have huge muscles, he trains to make those muscles bigger
