This kit includes 2 bushings, 4 brush springs, & 4 brushes.
It was common to install an 8 volt battery in oldsmobile and cadillac's from 49 to 53 to help turn over the newer big engines
There didn't seem to be any problems doing this. Starter repair kit for the early 6 volt delco starters used on john deere diesel tractors with the pony engine I did install a 40 amp 6 volt generator on the tractor My next project will be figuring out a way to add a 12 volt alternator behind the generator and drive it with the armature shaft.
What i am interested in is converting the pony itself from hand crank to electric start
