I dont know which websites to trust and am just feeling nostalgic for mk9. Mortal sin is one of the best rogue lites i recently played, that’s most likely the game that has the most satisfying and deep solo fps melee gameplay I highly recommend it, and so does steam users with 97% positive reviews out of 1000+ reviews :) I would say mortal kombat 11 right now if you gonna be playing online a lot or mortal kombat x if you gonna play for whatever
I would recommend looking at gameplays of both games and see if you would prefer the fast paced style of mortal kombat x or you want more traditional 11
Both are fantastic games though.
