Given all the changes our community has seen, especially in western placer county, it’s clear that our current plan needs a refresh to address new challenges like housing affordability and environmental issues. The placer county board of supervisors today adopted the placer 2050 vision statement and guiding principles, marking another milestone in the comprehensive update of the county’s general plan. Once approved, the placer county 2050 general plan will guide the development and conservation of our county for the next two decades. Last year, the county launched its effort to comprehensively update the general plan, a road map document that will set a new vision for the unincorporated area of placer county through the year 2050.
