“only the sincere one (mukhlis) knows hypocrisy (riya’).” this means that it is impossible to know the reality of hypocrisy and see its hidden shades except for one who resolutely seeks sincerity This includes showing off (riya’), which is the opposite of sincerity (ikhlas) It means performing acts of worship for the sake of being seen by others This is a major sin, and the prophet (allah bless him and give him peace) said
