Melbourne has been hosting the famous queer film festival since 1991, making it one of the oldest queer film festivals in the world and the largest in the southern hemisphere Running from thursday, 14 november to sunday, 24 november, this year’s festival features an impressive lineup of 42 feature films and 19 documentaries, along with a range of events and programs designed to celebrate the diversity of lgbtiqa+ communities. Running from thursday, november 13 to sunday, november 23, this year's festival celebrates 35 years of joy, creativity and liberation in queer filmmaking, with more than 130 films and 100 sessions screening at cinema nova, collins place, melbourne town hall and the capitol theatre.
