Meta has announced the removal of social plugins, including like and share buttons, from websites, effective february 10, 2026
These plugins, which have been in use since 2010 to enhance user engagement and track activity for targeted advertising, will cease to function automatically
The decision comes amid a significant decline in their usage over recent years
